Kenya Reading Drive at Kairi Library
Over 150 kids took part in a Kenya reading drive organized by ORS librarian, Naomi. Participating students borrowed books and wrote short essay summarizing what they learned. The top readers in three age groups were announced at a celebration event sponsored by inABLE.

Safari Texas Charity Golf Tournament

inABLE hosts an annual fundraising event. In 2011, guests were encouraged to dress in white at the fun White Party held in Atlanta, Georgia. Guests paid to “party with a purpose”. The money raised support teacher computer training and the Our Reading Space library program.

inABLE held it's first annual Golf tournament fundraiser event in Kenya on October 10th, 2010. The tournament was organized by Vishy Talwar of Cannon Assurance and hosted by Thika Sports Club.
We are very grateful for the time and effort that VishyTalwar put into making this event a complete success and thankful to the Thika Sports Club for hosting the event.
An inABLE-organized event with sponsorship from Georgia Tech, the Mwangaza Project Stakeholder Conference brought together Kenya’s influential schools for the blind principals, as well as key decision-makers from education, services or advocacy for the blind and visually-impaired organizations. A new partnership between Georgia Tech and inABLE was announced. Also, break-out brainstorming sessions took place along with discussions concerning difficulties facing visually-impaired students. Valuable ideas related to how best to meet acknowledged challenges and ways organizations can collaborate were shared.
A recognition award was also presented to inABLE’s Kenya-based team, including a hotel stay at the Kenya coast sponsored by Whitesands Hotel and a laptop donated by Hewlett-Packard Kenya Ltd.

inABLE hosted the first Nairobi, Kenya Dialogue in the Dark Business Leadership workshops in September 2010. The participants were fascinated by this completely dark experience that uncovered hidden strengths. Every participant has the opportunity to serve as a leader and to observe other leaders in action. After returning to a lit environment, participants shared their experiences, observations, surprises, frustrations, learning and especially their insights.
